Oceania Rising is a student organization at UH Mānoa organizing and educating for self-determination, independence, and social-economic-cultural-environmental structures and relationships of peace throughout the Pacific. We analyze structures of violence and militarization to strategize resistance based in Hawaiʻi. We genealogize our hui in relation to ancestral activist groups (like the Nuclear Free and Independent Pacific) to remember the solidarities that are possible. We uphold aloha ʻāina for our own families and islands and for Hawaiʻi nei to recommit to the love and ferocity that guides our work.
